Did you check to see if you can find him on the internet maybe do searches on his name and age, You can pm me and I can try to do a search for him maybe he has found someone to stay with by now. And at least this way you at least know he is okay and maybe can contact him on the internet and let him know he is missed and is welcome with you.
Took this dog back to another vet who did more by taking blood sample and sample of his hair as he is losing some hair and he was put on antibiotics for two weeks and vet was hesitant to give vaccinantions at this time but did it anyways. Turner the coon hound is still have some issues with losing fur and getting diahrrea at times but other wise is gaining weight and getting much stronger, vet thinks he could have something called cushings disease or something that is causing his kidneys to not function right, he could even have a hormonal problem that is causing some of his problems. He has been dewormed for everything except heart worm, thinking that is going to be the next step and then see where we go from there, right now neuter is out of the question until we know more of what is going on. He does seem to have problems with his breathing such as at night sometimes sounds like he is panting but he isn't and sometimes sounds like he is whinning but yet it does not look like he is, and he drinks a lot of water which he drinks from two gallons to three gallons a day but is starting to show a little decrease with some days going back up but he should be drinking max of three quarts a day. He has slowed down a bit on how much food he needs but still tries to eat a lot and I have to limit how much he takes still as not all the food absorbs into his system yet and the extra food is then put through the colon and is wasted and also can cause bactierial infection and problems in the digestive system. I am thinking he could have damage from being so emaciated and also thinking he was dumped or escaped from somewhere he was either abandoned or neglected from. He does not know proper dog etiquette on the lead and does not follow commands and acts like a hyper puppy. He does play good with the other dogs and cats when I let him play but have to be cautious until we find out what is going on with him. He has bad gas lately as well, but at least he does not stink as bad as he did when we first got him, and is not pooping as much either, and with weight gain it has to be a good sign, He does need to have his ears flushed and treated a couple times a day for at least a few more days to make sure that yeast infection in ears is gone. And getting his antibiotic down him is almost impossible and I have to push it down his throat or try to trick him but the later does not work well he is too smart for that. This dog is going to be expensive and take a lot of tender loving care and also alot of work getting him to listen and follow commands.
Just got back from Vet first time visit and he is pretty good priced for what he does and he seems real nice. He only does minimal vet care but what he did for our rescue was did diagnose bad yeast infection in the ears which we got a wash to clean out his ears and some drops to treat him with, got him some worm medicine he needs one dose every week for three weeks because of infestation, tape worm medicine, and to feed him two cups of food twice a day for a few more days give or take then gradually work him up to more so that he can digest the food properly, he has what appears to be possible frost bite on his ears as well, and will need some good training in a week or two with walking on a lead and to learn his commands along with be taught to stay out of the garbage. Vet says it could take about four months or so to get back to his regular weight give or take. So with lots of patience and love and care he will recover in time. Vet said he has a heart murmur but kind of sounded maybe it was from whip worm maybe or some kind of worm. I will get him started on his meds and in a week or two will give him revolution which will protect him from ticks, flees, worms, etc.
I am pushing myself too hard and having back pain and numbness in legs and feet and hands but worth it, as once I get the shelter going then I can slow down again, but also have help now as well. I have several people now helping me rescue animals, and to help get things together to get this shelter opened and running. If things keep going at this pace I may be lucky and have a shelter in this area open by summer.
I am getting very excited but also may be pushing myself too hard but is worth it and starting to show. I have sent letters to the commissioners and called the planning and zoning department for our county and once they call back I will have to check every cities ordinances for kennel/animal shelter and then plan and look from there for a good place to locate the shelter.
I have gotten so much support about this opening an animal shelter I have seven Veterinarian offices, Law enforcement, local residents and even some rescue groups and other shelters that support my idea and some even already coming forward to help in the shelter some volunteer and others need to be paid, I also have one of the commissioners in our county that offered to help and way he can... that in its self is a great thing. I have to also start fundraising to raise some money for the non profit registration and to start getting equipment and supplies we may need and this way we will be ready for when we open the shelter. I did interview for one of the local newspapers that contacted me and asked if they could do a story on me and my shelter plans or wants and what I am already doing..
I am putting myself in a stressful situation that I should not be in but I feel once this shelter is in place and going things will be a lot less stressful.
By voting you are helping animals get better chances of finding their forever homes and please tell friends, family and so on to come visit my website as well... I have appointment with local newspaper as well that is going to do an article about my shelter plans to help get support along with possible financing to get it going. It sounds like I have a great start and to keep it going have to pass the word around. In the mean time I have to still do something to help animals find forever homes and to keep them out of danger and so on so I help post them and find them homes.
I am in a little better situation today but still upset about some of the things going on in mylife.. and to make me feel better I am working on a project to raise some money to send care packages to people in need, I am working on a webpage, and plans on how the care package program will work and how to request or order a package for someone etc.
My fundraiser I am doing recipe book with recipes donated by others and some of my own, will also have a special site for this as well so others will be able to order a book, not sure yet how much it will cost for the books, but also need to get a working printer that can print color and can scan and fax things... for the printer I have now was only used to print test page and then shut off for the night and then would not turn back on, tried to get a new cord well it worked for about a minute and faded out.. so must be adapter or printer... and too late for warranty on the printer unless I keep bugging them about it.. maybe they can replace it... but I doubt that the way my luck is going.
But will keep trying to get it going otherwise will have to find someone to help with a new printer, need it anyways so I can save money to fax papers to the ssi and disability people, and can scan in some recipes and tax info that way I don't have to type so much..
I am dealing the best I can and between the care package program and the fund raiser I am keeping busy and also trying to re organize my house before insurance company comes out as they told us that we can't have anything laying around and we have to make sure my german shepherd who has not hurt anyone but does growl and threaten people who come into my home or she thinks is going to hurt me but I take precautions and yet they say I need to get rid of her.. she is also my companion dog who when I do fall down she will stand infront of me so I can get back to my feet when temp paralysis stops, and she is my protection as I had a few people try to walk in the house while I am here and it is no one we know cause pearl would not get agitated if it was someone she knows and she knows a lot of the neighbors and family... and the person was caught by surprise and ran leaving the door open behind them.
Pearl can even tell me if my health is bad or not and alerts if possible seizure can happen which she would do when my other dog a boston terrier was going to have a seizure. So I am going to talk to doctors and counselor and see if they can help keep her without insurance denying us, if we can't get insurance we lose our house to the already nasty man we are buying the house from.
Thank you for sharing this is very inspirational.
Had my yard sale today sold some stuff, and talked to a lot of our local residents and learned I am not the only one taking in and rescuing animals but we all have no more room without getting into trouble with having too many animals. All them that I talked to told me to keep trying and fighting and they would love to see the shelter get opened... I am going to write a story and see if I can put it in the paper as well as maybe call a meeting here in town about the shelter. I am going to call our mayer and talk to him as well and his kids are kind of friends with my kids and is real nice...
I am also looking at an old building to use for now and it is selling for $399000 and comes with all the items inside it which I can sell or auction of in silent auctions and money made will go to fix the building and set it up for a shelter and maybe a flee market space for others that have crafts and items they want to sell... and they can rent tables for so much a week, weekend, month. etc. Just an idea though.. still need money for the building and for registration of shelter and to get certified for non profit as well then we can do major fundraiser and the donors can use donations given to us as tax deduction. I got about three dollars today donation for the shelter going to put that in a bank account but need the secratary of state registration first for that to happen... that is about $300 there....
I also want to add I am not looking for anything for myself accept the satisfaction I am able to help someone less fortunate have one special day or package to let them have a smile for one day. I will not be using any of the money I earn for me nor my family but to use it to help animals and other people. I hope that some of the people who see this find it in their heart to help me out on this project.
I do have a website for the shelter I am trying to open and am willing for a reward I am willing to post ads for legitimate companies for a certain amount of time, for more information contact me and I will discuss the options.

My prayers are with you that everything turns out...
